Gloria, Gloria, Motu Proprio!

It's looks like it's finally here, albeit through a slightly devious route. Rocco Palmo, a Catholic journalist from Philadelphia, has some of the text at his blog Whispers in the Loggia. Much of it is very welcome, but it is as some predicted a cautious document. It's not the be-all and the end-all that some feverish predictions had us waiting for but it will make life easier for many, many trads. More importantly, it'll be a step forward for the Church as a whole, if it leads to more freedom for those of us attached to the '62 Missal and more reverent celebrations for those who prefer the 1970 Missal. It might even lead to a sudden outbreak of fraternal charity between the two, which would be no small achievement!
